Talking is a natural way of helping you to see things more clearly and Counselling can bring about a resolution in a way that suits you. Most importantly Counselling is about you. It is your time and your space and we work at your pace. We will talk about anything you feel comfortable to share. Getting support really can make a difference and help you to fully enjoy your life.

Counselling Therapy is a private and very personal experience whereby a safe and confidential atmosphere is required. I do not judge nor make assumptions.

When faced with difficult times you can feel very alone with your thoughts and not know which way to turn. It might not be easy to find someone you can talk with that you trust; someone who is not directly involved in your situation that can help.

If you are in a daunting situation or emotional pain, have suffered a loss, experienced betrayal, or any type of trauma, Counselling could be for you. Whatever your situation, I can work alongside you and give you support.

As part of our human existence we tend to hold on to painful experiences from the past. We constantly worry about difficulties in the present and are bogged down with fears about the future. These hinder our ability to find and achieve satisfaction. Being in the present moment and practising mindfulness can hugely help these debilitating behaviours that we struggle to shake off. Practice makes permanent.

Integrative Therapy:

Seeks to understand various approaches and puts them together. It looks to recall all the wholesome and healthy parts of the self and re-integrate them into the functional self. This is a uniquely individual process which is not seeking to change the person; it aims to make you more. The Integrative Counselling Therapist, like me, does not pick and choose in a patchwork manner. I have studied individual understandings, researched them and practiced them in a training environment which allows me to work in a variety of ways using different methods and orientations. In other words, as an Integrative Therapist I do not offer a ‘one size fits all’ approach. My understanding is that different people need a different approach at different times. My main focus is based on existential ideas. This concentrates on being in the ‘here & now’ and living in the moment.

For our therapy to be most effective it is important that we feel comfortable together. Therefore, at our initial meeting we will outline your situation, talk about confidentiality, and discuss any concerns you may have regarding Counselling. Following that, we can decide if we will work together.
